The Supreme Court, located opposite the Dataran Merdeka, was complete in 1904. A building of Moorish design, it continued as the seat of the highest court in the Peninsular until 1984, when the Supreme Court moved to the renovated Sultan Abdul Samad building. The building now houses the Criminal Courts.
